New on Instagram: Swipeable Carousel Ads for Marketers
Our favourite photo and video app has just updated their format for marketers. In addition to their previous carousel ads for photos launched in March 2015, now it allows to show up to five different videos.
This new format allows marketers to show their content in a more creative and interactive way, increasing their brand awareness and engagement with the audience.
For those who haven’t heard, Instagram is an online mobile platform for sharing photos and videos. You can share your content either publicly or privately, and also link your profile with your Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr accounts. It is currently available in 25 different languages and it is compatible with iOS 7.0 (or later), Andorid (2.2 or later), Windows Phone 8 and Windows Mobile 10.
The app was created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger and launched in 2010 (Acquired by Mr Zuckerberg in April 2012). It had over a 100 million active users as of April 2012 and has recently reached more than 400 million active users who spend an average of 21 minutes a day scrolling down their feed.
In Australia only there are over 5,000,000 monthly active users who are absolutely loving Instagram (us Roomies included).According to a recent study from eMarketer, they estimate that around 11.9 million people in Australia will use social networking sites, up 2.3% over 2015.
